Lounge Update - Slawston

Transforming Houses into Homes

As this farmhouse lounge had such a beautiful outlook and features like the fireplace and window seat, it was vital that the design enhanced these features rather than detract from them.

A warm neutral palette was used, painting the walls, ceilings, skirtings and doors all in the same colour.  Colour drenching created the perfect backdrop for the furnishings and accessories, and blurring the lines between the walls and ceiling made the space feel bigger, more cohesive and sophisticated.  Adding sofas and a rug together with made to measure curtains in stunning cowslip fabric by Zoe Glencross added a cosy, cocooning feel, and created a connection with the countryside surroundings.

Doors to the garden were changed to freshen up the room and be more energy efficient.  The design also retained family furniture with sentimental value and new hessian carpets in a natural colour completed the design.

Client quote - From the first visit to moodboards we absolutely loved Em's design for our lounge. It looks amazing and we now need her help with the dining room!
